EverQuest

Welcome on my weblog dedicated to very popular MMORPG Games. Today I would like to talk about EverQuest 1 & 2. First part was released on 16 March 1999. The original design of first EverQuest is credited to few guys: Brad McQuaid, Steve Clover, and Bill Trost. Game was developed by Sony’s 989 Studios and its early-1999 spin-off Verant Interactive. It was published by Sony Online Entertainment. Since its acquisition of Verant in late 1999, Sony develops, runs and distributes EverQuest.
Well, I discovered this great MMORPG games in 2005, when my friend show me raid. Online raid in EverQuest was my first experience in online gaming, so I will always keep that in my heart :-)

Well, first part of EverQuest has earned a lot of awards, including 1999 GameSpot Game of the Year.
Second part was released in late 2004. Is set in universe similar to that of the original EverQuest, this “sequel” takes place 500 years after the awakening of great mob Kerafyrm, The Sleeper. Both games are probably most significant MMORPG Games in genre.

You want to play in EQ? These are official system requirements, make sure that your system meets the following requirements:

Minimum:

- Pentium II 400Mhz or better
- Windows 98/2000/ME/XP
- 28.8k (or faster) Internet connection
- 256 MB RAM
- 16 MB Direct3D compliant video card
- DirectX 8.0 compatible sound card
- 4X speed CD-ROM
- 450 MB+ hard drive space

Recommended Specs:

- Pentium III or better
- Windows 98/2000/ME/XP
- 1.5 GB+ hard drive space
- 512 MB RAM
- DirectX 8.0 compatible sound card
- 56.6k (or faster) Internet connection
- 32 MB Direct3D compliant video card and hardware T&L (i.e. ATI Radeon Gold or Nvidia GeForce Platinum or greater)
- 16X speed CD-ROM
Well, system requirements are low, compared to other MMORPG games.

To play in second part of EverQuest, you need better PC, so these are requirements for EQ 2.

Minimum:

- Processor: 1GHz
- Operating System: Windows 98/2000/ME/XP
- RAM: 512 MB
- Video Card: DirectX 9 compatible. 64 MB of texture memory.
- Sound Card: DirectSound compatible audio hardware

And recommended:

- Processor: 2 GHz or greater
- Operating System: Windows XP
- RAM: 1GB
- CD-ROM: 16x CD-ROM or DVD-ROM
- Video Card: DirectX 9 compatible. 128 MB
- Sound Card: Sound Blaster Audigy
